How to calculate percentage of marks?
Percentage = (Total Marks Obtained ÷ Total Maximum Marks) × 100. Example: if you scored 450 out of 600 across all subjects, your percentage is (450 ÷ 600) × 100 = 75%.
What percentage is required for engineering admission?
Most NIT and state engineering colleges require 60-75% in PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Math) in 12th boards. IIT admission is through JEE Advanced ranks, not board marks. Private colleges may accept 45-55%.
What is a good percentage in board exams?
90%+ is exceptional (merit list worthy). 75-89% is First Class with Distinction. 60-74% is First Class. For most government jobs and competitive exams, 60% is the standard cutoff.
